Ashley is a born-and-raised Tucsonan who returned home after a decade in San Diego. Rather than sticking to one sport, Ashley has always been a "dabbler" in movement—from the dusty arenas of junior high and high school rodeos, the lanes of her high school swim team, to the open roads of triathlons in her mid-20s. She loves the challenge of learning something new, which is exactly what led her to a CrossFit gym in 2020. Her CrossFit journey began under some of the most unique circumstances possible—training in an empty car wash next to a gym on Coronado Island! What started as a way to stay active during a lockdown quickly evolved into a deep passion for the CrossFit methodology and the science of performance nutrition.
With a career as an educator since 2007 and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Ashley brings depth to her coaching. Having spent five years as a therapist for survivors of sex trafficking, she understands that fitness is never just about the physical. For Ashley, CrossFit was the missing piece that allowed her to integrate her trauma-informed background with functional movement—healing the body, mind, and spirit through disciplined training and a supportive community.
Ashley earned her Level 1 credential in San Diego just before life took a whirlwind turn: she reconnected with a classmate she’d known since the 9th grade (though she definitely wasn't a fan of him back in 1999!). They married soon after, prompting her move back to Tucson. She considers it a stroke of pure luck that the closest gym to her new home happened to be the best in town: CrossFit 646. When she isn’t on the gym floor, Ashley runs her private mental health practice, keeps up with her "gaggle" of nieces, and travels the world with her husband. She is dedicated to providing a space where every athlete can show up exactly as they are to train, grow, and heal.
